Hola my friends!
YEAAAYYY!!! What a great week it has been!! I mean honestly can we please reflect on the fact that this was officially the best thing that could've happened to the end of this year? It was one of the toughest finals I have ever played and definitely the longest one in my career. Two weeks ago, 4 out of 5 wins sounded like wishful thinking and I can't even tell you how happy I am that I just kept going and going (like the energizer bunny!!) and gave myself the best chance I could to play. I'm usually not a very emotional person when it comes to crying and stuff but after this match I just had tears running down my eyes because I couldn't believe that I was able to finish this year on such a good note. It's like I cried everything out that was stuck inside of me, all the emotions, stress, thoughts.... Ahhh what a relief. Actually right now I feel like complete crap because I got a cold and can't swallow, breathe, or move my muscles( thanks to the three and a half hours on court) , but I'm listening to James Blunts new CD, which makes me feel a lot better because it is amaaazing! Three hours after the match I hopped on a private plane and flew to Dubai, where I am helping launch Dubai Lifestyle City and the IMG Academies that are going to be built in this region. Dubai is such a fascinating place to visit....from the culture to the shopping, it's a picky person's dream. I better get my voice back by tomorrow's press conference.
One of my new favorite restaurants is Casa Lucia in Madrid...who knew that eggs with potatoes can be so good!
Can we please talk about this really useless holiday called Halloween? Really, what is so amazing about it? Haunted house? Dressing up? People grow up!! A Lion King costume only looked cute when you were 5 years old. When we were back home before going to Madrid, there was a Halloween party EVERY night for a week....psychos!
My dad gets quote of the week describing my outfit in Madrid as "something you would wear on September 1st, to the first day of school."
We came down to breakfast a few days ago and saw a mother, father and their little kid wearing the same green, and black striped shirt......someone forgot to tell them that Halloween was 2 weeks ago.
Anyways I feel like I am just rambling on here so I am going to continue the Spanish tradition and take a siesta. I know I have already said this to you guys but I am so lucky to have such amazing fans that stick with you through the thick and thin.
I will write again after my trip to Hong Kong....hopefully with something fun to report.
